Where are you from originally?

I am a native of East Tennessee, but I have lived throughout the eastern US moving frequently during my childhood and through my education and medical training. My extended family has been living in the Northern Delaware region for 10 + years now. 

What is your favorite procedure to perform and why?

Choosing a favorite procedure is difficult. If pressed, I would likely say flat foot corrective surgery. I enjoy deformity correction procedures, as they often have the greatest impact on people’s pain and function. Flat foot correction also includes many aspects of Orthopaedics including corrective bone cuts, tendon transfers, and joint fusions depending on the severity of the deformity. 

What do you like to do in you spare time?

I spend all of my time outside of Orthopaedics with my family. My wife, three young children, and I love to spend time exploring outside. We love hiking, fishing, camping, and travelling for new adventures. 

Did you play a sport? Favorite sports team?

I was a year-round athlete through high school playing multiple sports including ice hockey, baseball, football, and golf. I continued to play club ice hockey in college as well. I continue to play golf now when my scheduled allows. 

I am an avid follower of college and professional sports. I am an obsessive Tennessee Volunteers fan in all sports! 

Favorite type of music?

Given my roots in Tennessee, I am a big country music fan, but my playlists frequently include classic and alternative rock. 

Fun fact about you?

My education is in BioMedical Engineering with an original plan to design Orthopaedic implants. As I worked as an athletic trainer in college, I found a love for patient care and ultimately chose the path to pursue medicine and Orthopaedic Surgery. 

Do you have any pets?

We have a Goldendoodle named Polo.

Favorite location to travel?

We tend to alternate our family travel between the beach and the mountains. We love the balance of trips to the mountains to explore and hike with a little more relaxation at the beach.
